There is a ride report on AdvRider about a guy exploring the Sierras' backroads last spring on a KTM. Excellent report and photography:

Near the end of the trip, he meets "Dave" on an FJR and shoots a couple shots of his rig. I thought these pictures might be interesting to this forum:

Dave, are you on this forum?

Cheers,

I'm pretty sure that's TurboDave, a CA native. Only met him once at the Pink's RTE. I know he has a Tanji fuel cell, which is pictured above with the tailsack on top of it. He always reminds me of a Wing rider.......I don't know why. :D

What's up with the '03 fuel tank..... guess he did not want to plumb his '05 tank for whatever reason...?

what the hell is all that stuff[?]
Side view: Aftermarket screen, 2003 fuel tank, moko sliders, bike johnny carbon fiber engine armor, highway pegs, fjr goodies light brackets, phid aux lights, tanji fuel call, fastbag 60 liter tail pack

Cockpit view: fjr goodies ecm shelf, MixIt audio mixer, ?, XM (Roady?) radio, radar detector, garmin V GPS (left grip), cup holder and thermometer (right grip), garage door opener (L fairing pocket list)

Last photo: Fastbag on top of Tanji fuel cell

I think you're right, but where'd the antennea go?? Musta been out for a short ride - side cases are off (prolly a first for Dave!)

Dam,all he needs is a blue light in the back and he could pass for an LA cop and give out tickets for cash and farkle that bitch up a little more.

Yep - that is Dave from So. Calif. I had the pleasure of meeting him last Monday evening at Madmike's before they left for WFO-4. FYI he has a cell phone and CB radio added to the mix now!

What? No Throttle lock? Sheesh... farkle rookies....

On second look, I do see the corner of a wrist rest in the cockpit view... so he gets 1/2 credit...

That electrical farking is cool and all, but what if he needs to stop somewhere and go in for 10 minutes? Does he strip everything? Hope it's still there when he returns?

And when it rains, what happens to the stuff?

Too much stress for me. Less is more I think....
