While on a nice ride with Tina, going the opposite way a trio of FJRs went cruising by. It was on Hwy 34 near Grand Lake Colorado about 11-ish. We were on my Bumble Bee FZ-1 and she was on her Kawi.

Earlier on US 40 near Winter Park, we saw a beautiful Blue Feejer travelling south with 2 aboard.

I am wondering if any of these 4 were from this board?

Wasn’t me. I ain’t even close! :sadsmiley: But sure would like to have been there. :bike:

Something sucked real bad about this ride. We were 20 minutes from home when I realized the camera was not with me. #%%#^@ @!U@U* @^@&@((@(@ We decided not to go back and get it because, well, um we see this stuff all the time... I did want to take a few pics to post here though for those less fortunate. It was a perfect day for photography too. Next time!

Some of those who attended WFO-5 in Reno were up and leaving in the wee hours in the morning. Is it possible that it was 3 of those owners? I suppose we'll wait until they get home and post...

It was truly awesome to take rides at WFO and see FJR's all over the place. I would bet you saw some WFO returnees. I never got tired to seeing FJRs roll by...even in the parking lot. I think I like these bikes :)

I was cruising around Golden and Sunday on 285S near Baily but no where near you. It was a hot weekend to ride in Denver.

It is definately possible and that would explain it well. But if it was, they were on quite a detour for the end of a long ride.

It was really nice up there. Cool, more or less. I put my cool vest on in Estes Park for the ride down the hill and was happy I did so. We didn't see any moose though. Tina was disappointed, I was pleased as I don't like wildlife encounters on two wheels. Moose are big and evil tempered. We did see the customary hundred or so elk in Rocky Mountain national park.

Maybe next year's WFO should be in the Colorado high country. The resorts love summer groups as it is the slow time for many of them. Then again, maybe it is too far east for WFO.

An FJR owner’s get together in CO sounds like a winner to me. :) Who knows what they’ll come up with in the not too distant future?

1.) Not at the end of a WFO ride-out, but there were those from the Eastern and Southeastern states who may have taken an early start from Reno towards home.

2.) Stay tuned. Warchild announced they are trying to nail down some issues and indeed would like to have WFO-6 in Colorado. :yahoo:

Nothing is sure until some arrangements are made and quotes are accepted. Positive thoughts, prayers and crossed fingers are accepted!

If it was the weekend before, then I could have said it was my wife and I. This weekend, we were in, ughh, Pittsburgh and State College, PA.

On the 23rd, Jane and I rode from Golden, out to Berthoud Pass (11,500 ft), Winter Park, Grand Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park and back via Ward and Rollinsville on the Peak to Peak Highway.

Sport Touring Network has its gathering in Montrose last summer. It was great riding teh Million Dollar Highway and following a cruiser rider down Red Mountain to Ouray at 10 mph

I think the local BMW group is going to do 10, ten thousand foot passes on a ride this coming weekend. I'll have to check to be certain.

And OrangevaleFJR: Just ride on over to Golden, stay at my place (as long as you're not allergic to 2 dogs and 3 cats), and we'll do some weekend mountain riding.

Ron

Your ride sounds almost like ours. We started in Broomfield went up 70 and 40 through Winter Park, then 34 to Grand Lake where we had lunch and through RMNP, then back down 72 and hwy 7 to the flat lands and then home.

You are right, the BMW 100k foot ride is Saturday the 5th.

Since we are just up/down 93 from each other, we will have to hook up for a ride some time.
