Sounds like your from the U.K., just trying riding your ZX-14 for 987 miles in a day....that translates into approximately a little over 1,600 km in a day and tell me how refreshed you feel when you get off of it.

Steve/FJRZON-ZX14ZON! is a nice guy from Wisconsin - not Britain - though he fooled me with his "Cheers" . He's one of the riders that wanted his FJR handlebars lowered, so I think he's a happy camper now with his ZX14....

I was cruising down the OSR (Old San Antonio Road) several years back with the top down on my Vette and I was doing 95+ listening to the music!

A DPS Officer (Texas State Trooper) pulled me over and I thought "O ****!". After he asked me to get out of the car, he told me I had one chance to get out of it. He walked around to the front of my car and exclaimed "I'll be damned - you are one lucky SOG". I couldn't figure out how I had gotten out of a ticket by him walking to the front of my car - it turned out I got off because I had my front license plate on the car (most Vette owners don't put it on).

We talked about cars for a few minutes afterwards & he told me to slowdown and have a good day.

The funny thing was that I had just put my license plate on the weekend before because I got ticketed for NOT having it on in Arlington Texas.

Some times you just get lucky :blink: :blink: !

Below is an actual quick pic (compressed poor quality) of mine on the side of a gas station yesterday almost naked. I have the speed-hump off and an Oxford TP in place. I debadged the Kwaker tags off the fairings (looks better IMHO). Yep…she’s all dressed in black and ready to pounce like a black panther. LOL. The bike looks absolutely menacing in BLACK at every angle. :diablo: BrunDog...come to the dark side my son. LOL.

For those that don’t like to bend down and lube chains try this: Pro-Oiler

Also, all ergos can be adjusted with the aftermarket...whether it be footpegs, bar risers...different windshields. It's endless.

There are plenty of people that Sport Tour on bikes like this. We all know dudes that ride theeeee **** out of their Hayabusas and ZZRs. In fact the ZX-14 is the very definition of a ST bike IMO. Sport Touring is touring on a sport bike for ***** sake.

And since I'm here, did you know that the ZX-14 comes with ABS in Europe?

+1 on that. No offense to the big ZX (great bike), but I have spent years "touring" on sport bikes, with an even more radical riding position than the ZX. Like a 2004 R1. While I have enjoyed the bike immensely, I can tell you the riding position makes all the difference to me. Most any bike can "Sport Tour", but how do you feel after a long ride? The R1 and my GSX-R I had were a pain in the neck and ***. Literally. Talk about cooking bacon. The R1 seat got so hot (from the under-tail exhaust) it cooked me. Wind protection is marginal at best. Neck and back pain could become unbearable. Yes, one can Sport Tour on these bikes, but I prefer at this stage in my life to be a bit more comfortable, yet not ride a couch like a Wing. Not yet anyway.
