Leave the cover on, you wouldn't hear a word, no poke in the side or smack in the head.

I think that it would be dependant on if the bike was ridden in a country such as the US or had US or French influence versus if it were a country that was influenced by the British Empire. If the bike is in the UK or a country that was at one time under British Empire rule, where they drive on the left hand side of the road, they would be on the shoulder side.
