PNW and any long distance travelers,

My grounding harness is on the way and I'm planning my assault. I know others have ordered these as well so maybe we do a little installation party. The only downside of a get-together for these is having your bike torn down while not at home and the worry of not being done. However, it looks straightforward enough and with a few friends we can navigate the hard spots. I will do spark plugs while I am in there as well as installing the Panman block off plates. Maybe run a cable or two.

So, a tech day is in order and kibitzers are allowed as well. My turn to host. I have all the regular tools, Morgan Carb Tune thing, steering head spanner thingy, and Niehart special bike lifting board.

When: Sunday, May 30th. Start 0900. BBQ for lunch as suggested by Marcus. No end time.

Just might be a good idea, know anyone with little hands?

Anytime but next weekend...I'm on call and house bound. Hudson & AuburnFJR are the local experts in slaying spiders, perhaps they would lend a hand for this. Good idea Beamer Reamer, name the time and place and *they* will come.

Great idea - mine is done already, no probs. BTW, I'll be in your neck o' dee woods Mammorial day! (pun intended)

Brodie has informed me he has a harness ready for me, maybe we can do together, Memorial weekend is good for me.

Happy to host and I most deliberately don't go anywhere on Mammorial weekend. Icky traffic everywhere and the passes are a disaster. If we get a consensus that Memorial weekend works, I will put it together.

Mr. Don, Dcarver, deer slayer, dirt road rider, extra tank tester, broken frame guy - your welcome to come hang with the fellas regardless of whether or not we get a tech day going.

All - post up if Saturday or Sunday works Memorial Day weekend or if a weekend plus or minus is better. I will use the results and get something going. Be flexible. Really.

David

Saturday works better for me, I was going to ride Hurricane Ridge Sunday but I can cancel it if everyone prefer Sunday. I want to throw this out there and also make this a potluck BBQ. Brian can stop by Costo with the trailer to P/U goodies...like PIE..lol

I figured we would do burgers, brats, dogs, breasts (yep, really), chops or whatever. Hopefully we will get a nice day but we will persevere regardless. So far, leaning towards Sunday based on feedback.

Original post edited to reflect attendees, I will keep this updated.

Happy to lend my knowledge!

Two things to know about the spiders: (1) the fuel tank probably needs to come off (and while it is off, you should consider spark plugs or TBS anything else that requires the tank to be off), and (2) it goes a WHOLE lot faster if the side fairings/front cowling comes off, which means time to consider horns, HID's, Aux lights, FZ1 mirrors, or anything else that lends itself for the cowling to be removed.
