THAT'S where I saw the photo before! Somehow I came across their website a while ago. If I recall, that trip was some time ago.Yes, I met Mike Loomer once at the Loading Chute in Creston, CA. at the annual Toys for Tots Benefit a couple of years ago. He asked me where to get a pair of Wild Bill foot peg brackets. Mike told me at that time to look up his website as he and his wife had finished the ride as their honeymoon on a pair of FJR's they had bought just for the occasion.
I'm gonna bet Mongolia. And I never saw one in Nepal either.Cool picture. Thought I'd seen it all. Any place on God's green earth an FJR hasn't been?
I like the conclusion of the article stating that if Yamaha is unresponsive to it's customers they may decide to take their money elsewhere. Um..can anyone say ignition switch?Mike Loomer mentioned in October 2007 article!

You're a very lucky woman but we all hate him for making the rest of us look bad...We'd had dinner at a nice restaurant near my house on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific. Afterwards, we took a little walk along the cliff-top trails. He proposed, then gave me a ring box with an engagement keyring. I pulled it out, and he did this grand Vanna White gesture, and sitting there on the restaurant lawn, previously in shadow but now grandly illuminated, were the two bikes. It had taken him 10 months to get the bikes, keep them a secret, and work out all the details.
