I had the privilege of taking a ride in "Fifi" earlier this month at the Confederate Commemorative Air Force Airsho in Midland, Tx. She's the last flying B-29, right now. I got to sit in the Navigators seat. See if you recognize who happened to sign their name back in Aug of this year.

Wasn't it the navigator of the Enola Gay, I recall correct when you wrote first about it? She's a impressive bird, saw her in Dulles as well as another one in Duxford.... The B29 that is......

I truly envy you, yet am happy for you, this is one of those memories which create milestones"...well at least for me a retired Air Force E8...

Isn't it the last one flying? I'm thinking about fifteen years ago the family and I happened upon her and a B-17 at the Arlington airport just before they started them took off!

There was a old dude selling his book 52 (102 not sure) missions in a B-17 that day. I remember someone telling me he lived nearby in a little trailer park and feeling a bit sad.

If one has never stood by two big old war birds starting up and standing in their prop wash, getting sand blasted and feeling the power pulsing from the big old radials... Well that makes me sad to as their time is winding down.

Just think about it, 4 9 cylinder engines at 1,200 HP each on the B-17, the sound would make a dead man’s heart beat! Just awesome!
