I am the official new guy here, and I want to say, this is a great site. I have been riding bikes for 28 years, and currently own a 2004 R1. Each year, my brother and I take a fairly long ride, and I am finding I enjoy longer rides more and more. Yes, I ride the R1 on 1500 mile rides at least once a year. I know, brave soul. Having said that, I REALLY like Sport bikes, but want a bike that will give me a much more comfortable ride, have hard bags, and still give me great performance. I know, the FJR is NOT going to handle like an R1, but after much research and riding a much older FJ 1200 of a friend, I am convinced the 06 FJR is the bike for me. I am selling my R1, and will get at least 7500 for it, making a great down payment on the FJR. I'm sure I will get crap for asking since the FJR's are special order only, but if any of you guys and gals know of a dealer with a new A model out there, please let me know. I am either going to find a new 06, or perhaps put a deposit on a new 07 when we get closer to production time. Perhaps I can post some pics of some of my rides if I can figure it out.

Well I know Honda of N. Hollywood has a new 05' and an 06' AE on the floor, I saw them this week.

Call around, there were a lot of extras bought under phony names in the past and I'm sure dealers did it this year to.

There are also sale that fall through so those bikes endup on the dealer floor.

I also think someone said Chapperal had an AE on the floor.

Check Cycle Trader FJR search , it shows one at Berts (I'll bet way over priced ), one at LA Yamaha and one at John Burr Cycles in Fontana.

Try Abernathy's in Union City, TN. They are getting 4 in August and 3 in September. I have a deposit on one of the August bikes. I have also been told that Ward's Yamaha in Troy, AL has an "A" model on the floor today. D&H in Cullman, AL is supposed to have the best prices in the country. Don't know if they have any. They did not when I put down my deposit.
