Oops, nevermind! :dribble: I suppose we will need to plan one around SOnora?

For some reason I thought this ws on the 21st to work with CAJW's word schedule....hmmm....I'll have to double check my calendar.

Good find Evil! Hmm...with a name like Evil, should we be expecting to see some kind of remarkable jump while we are there? How many cars are coming? :clapping:
I believe that's why he's bringing the motor home -- same as jumping busses, but if you jump it the long way, you don't have to get many cars in there.

Brad -- Sunday sounds good. I guess I need to get out of here around 7 am.

Anyone else for this Sunday's reconnoitering? Andrew?

Ohhh Steeeee-eeeeve! You gonna have a KLR by Sunday?
No KLR for me this week. Saturday I leave for WFO and won't resume the search till early August

Thanks for the offer Dave but I would be doing 2000 miles just going back and forth from my house to yours. Maybe Skyway might take you up on your most generous offer.

Have a safe trip, Steve. I will resume my enabling duties upon your return. :D

Too bad the August issue of Motorcyclist magazine is showing up in mail boxes now, with an article on the upgraded '08 KLR 650. Just got mine at lunch. That can't help the availability of '08s, but with new '07s still on the sales floor, it should help buyers get a killer deal on one of them.

Brad, you still up for reconnoitering the Meadow Lake environs on Sunday?

You bet, meet at what looks like the first big turn out on Bowman Lake Rd at 8:00am? Ouch, looks like I need to leave about 5:30 that morning, I'll be zing'in on coffee!. I will be bringing the bike in the truck.

I'm riding Smith Valley the next three days so I won't be near a computer after tonight until Fri pm.

I'll be there Sunday at 8 am. You have my phone number and I have yours, and while I'm not sure of the reception on Bowman Road, it is on and off as you change cells all along I-80 in that corridor. Let's touch base sometime on Saturday just in case. On either of the other two bikes, that's about a 45 minute ride from home to where we'll meet, but I suspect it'll be a lot slower on the KLR, esp. since I'll probably do most of it on 40 until I have to get on 80 for the last 15 miles to the Hwy 20 turnoff. This should be fun.

Smith Valley in NV -- east of Topaz Lake??

WTF??? WTF???

I have been reading this whole thing and I find it very inconsiderate that you plan this ride

"AFTER" I sold my KLR to MM2.

I could have had one more good ride before my neck gave up. Have a great time. :)

Gents, Since this is on a weekend that I'm scheduled to work, I probably will not be able to attend. If I can get one of my co-workers to trade a weekend (not likely!) I'll be there, but don't plan on getting a luxury suite for my sorry ***. Looks to be a good area to ride, I especially liked the pics of the narly logs to practice trials riding on, but I may have to miss this event none the less. A Sonora area DS ride sounds to be in order as well, hopefully on a weekend I can make it. I'll HELP orgainze that if it is received with some interest as there are plenty of great paved and dirt roads in the area tailor made for our DRZ type bikes. Have fun guys!
