Yesterday, I took advantage of a break between storms to check out the neighborhood. Rosanne Cash was giving a concert a the Folsom Prison, so it seemed an appropriate day to visit and take a picture. A cooperative prison guard snapped this dashing photo for me. In spite of my obvious connections, I still didn't have the qualifications to attend the Cash concert, so I snapped a couple pictures and took off to see what was going on with all the high water.

Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
We have had quite a wet year in Sacramento. The snowpack is 150% of normal (700 inches at Kirkwood ski area), and our rainfall already exceeds the amount we expect in a full year by a few inches. As a result Folsom Reservoir is really full. The overflows are open and the flow is nearly 30,000 cfs. For those of you who don't gauge rivers, that's a bunch.
I stopped by Browns Ravine. There is a boat launch here, but its fully submerged. Soon the entire parking lot will be under water at flood pool.
Downstream, the Nimbus dam is really roaring.
My break in the weather didn't hold out, and I got caught in a pretty good thunderstorm and hail. A number of funnel clouds were seen in the area. I didn't risk spotting the chrome on the C90 and got the all-weather beast a bit wet.
A short ride today just to check out the neighborhood. Next time I'll try to get some more worthy pictures.
