You ******* Some of my all time favorite cars, which I'll never be able to afford; crunched. Give a guy some warning next time. Sheesh.

Looks like number 71 was having a really bad day. How'd he end up being the only one going the wrong direction?

No apparent damage to the rear of the car so it doesn't look like he/she got spun...

let's see, drive fast, turn right? :nea:

Nostalgia racing is pretty cool, if not a rich mans endeavour only. There is at least one, if not more, Chaparrals (ala Jim Hall) actively racing IIRC. Can you imagine piling one of them up? Worth millions.

Ahhhh, the good ole days... Spent many a Sunday afternoon at Limerock back home. Nothing like the thunder of those CanAm's screaming up the back esses!

You saw them race live back in the day? For the first time ever, I envy you, incontinence and all.... :p Big block Chevys and road racing. Does it really get any better?

Yup, the glory years of CanAm were mostly done as exabition races in support of other races at Limerock. Limerock finally got a few sanctioned CanAm races in the early 80's, IIRC. But, those were way different cars by then. IMSA GT's were becoming all the rage (remember Holbert's Porsche 962 Lowenbrau Special? Woof.).

I thought BIR held some CanAm's back in the late 60's and early 70's, no? What was it called back then... Dennybrooke or Donnybrooke Speedway?

Anyway, yeah they were kickass rides, but I gotta go and empty the bag now. Later.
