A few years back, some friends & I rode to Valle Az for the war-birds fly in air-show. I was able to fly on a 1929 ford tri-motor. In the pre-flight talk the guy said they go to home-depot to get parts!

They have a Ford Tri-Motor at the Evergreen Air Museum in McMinnville, OR. It is super cool. As well as the rest of the museum pieces including the Spruce Goose! I can 't imagine how neat it would be to ride in one!!

Thanks for sharing!!

A taildragger! Sorta like a FJR, except it gets more air. I love the old planes, as they make me feel nostalgic of a beautiful era, especially the music. I'm sure you enjoyed it!

I got to fly right seat in one, which was incredible. You can leave the cockpit side window open and hang your elbow out. Checking the engine instruments means . . .

. . . Looking at the strut over the engine!

Good time!

In '98 I took a ride in one at Oshkosh. Great time. But I was amazed at how much noise and vibes produced so little forward velocity. Kinda like a Harley, without the pirate costume.
