You could also buy item 53, the seal kit instead of individual items 7 & 8..... FYI. Keep in mind you'll need a special tool to seat the middle bushings item 6.
Several of us in the PNW have built the tools needed to rebuild forks including seating the bushings and seal.

I am new to this forum but would like to attend the fall tech day gathering and change my fork oil. Is there an announcement for it in the PNW ride section or is it in this section of the forum? I have a 2006 FJR and I have the full Yamaha service manual for 2006-2007. What would I need to bring to just change the fork oil?

How many miles are there on your forks since you replaced the bushings? Depending on the milage, you might want to get all 6 bushings, a seal kit and oil. We would be glad to help you do a full fork service at the next FJR tech day.

The fall Tech day will be announced in the PNW specific forum section. If you're just changing fork oil then all you will need is oil. Honda SS-7 suspension fluid is a great choice for oil.

I just contacted the original owner and found out that the forks have never been serviced. I think I will buy a bushing and seal set as recommended by redneckj as well as the fork oil. The bike will have about 26K on it by then. Will you guys be doing brake fluid and clutch fluid flushes as well?

Sounds like a plan and yes, we've done / do brake and clutch fluid flushes at Tech Day.

Man, I'd love to see a Central Cally tech day to tackle the forks.

I've got 33K on the clock, but no riding in rain (duh, Cally gets no rain,,,).

Any other Central Cally folks interested???

We've had a few from Cali make the trip up. You're welcome if you can swing the time off to make it.
