Since I got a couple emails on this matter of not sharing our BBQ with the rest of the guys, I'd like to send an open invitation to anyone who wants to eat, drink and party before leaving the next morning for the WFO. Although this is part of my route to oregon, Larry who will be housing us, would be happy to have anyone to join the BBQ. Although he is not a rider himself, he likes to cook. So with that in mind, bring on the hungry riders, stay overnight if you wish.

We will be leaving in the morning thru yosemite, out the back to Mono Lake and straight to reno. Maybe a ride around south lake tahoe, but we can discuss that over the brew. If you want to stay overnight, he's got extra beds available to accomodate anyone who is continuing with us in the morning to the WFO, but not because you drank the whole keg!

So July 27th, anyone in the vicinity, SoCal, Inland Empire, etc going to WFO, or local who wants to meet more guys on FJR's, then come by BBQ night in Visalia. I'll get the exact directions, address, and find out if its ok to post his physical address here, or if I should just PM anyone who wants to go. Our Orange county group should be leaving from Mission motorsports in Irvine at noon, so I think we should be in Visalia about 4ish, so hope to see you there.

P.S. Now if I can only keep this a secret from the wives, and hire some umbrella girls, we'd have it made.

Hmmmmmm.... this has possibilities... I was arriving at Reno a day or so early.... could rejuggle and shoot for SoCal from Cedar City....

Just to clarify... the BBQ is on the 27th, and you're riding up to WFO on the 28th?

Uh, most WFO attendees will be partying in Reno the night of the 27th. You'd also miss out on many rides happening Friday. Sure you guys don't want to do this on the 26th?

That's what I was thinking Toe... if the BBQ was on the 26th, it would match up better with my existing route... which currently has me in Reno late on the 26th. Going here on the 26th, would allow me to get to see Yosemite, which I will probably miss otherwise.

Hey Grooie-Pooh, I'm going up on the 26th (maybe the 25th) and have a pretty good ride planned. Tentative plan B was to venture through Yosemite. There will be at least 3 of us. Interested?

I will keep on eye these plans, maybe change mine to join the group.

My plans now were to leave from a friends place in Santa Maria.

Driving from San Diego to Santa Maria the 26th, Santa Maria to Reno morning of the 27th.

I thought quite a few people would be there noon or so the 27th?

Definitely interested... although at the moment, per this, I'm in Cedar City on the night of the 25th, so I'd have to do some shifting to be in SoCal to leave for Reno early on the 26th... but haven't really thought out how I'd do that yet....

Originally back several months ago we had the BBQ on the 26th, to stay two nights in Reno.

Looking at the activities on thursday, it is basically for checking in and nothing till 7pm.

WFO

Thursday, July 27

10am-4pm:: Check-In, receive Rallyshirts/Dinner tickets

4pm-7pm:: Dinner - on your own

7pm until: Social Gathering in the Silver State Pavilion

Friday, July 28

9am - 4pm: Rides and vendor activities as planned

4pm-7pm: Socializing/tire-kicking, Silver State Pavilion

7pm: Private Group Dinner - Grand Ballroom TBD

9pm until: Evening Activities as planned

After looking at the activities, and rides, plus we are continuing from Reno to Crater Lake in Oregon and down the coast to the Redwoods, we would pass on the friday rides in the morning. We will be riding thru Yosemite, and Mono Lake anyways going to Reno, so we will possibly be running into each other in between.

So the BBQ is on the 27th, thursday night, and leaving Friday morning thru Yosemite. Should be a blast.

I'm thinkin' the one in Reno's gonna be a bigger blast, but YMMV.

Yeah, I got to keep up my reputation as zzkenoman, so I'll be hitting all the casinos I can along my route!
