And on that note, I'm working on a certain group buy that many of you should seriously consider. Details soon forthcoming.
Toe - don't even tell me you've got something going with Aerostich. I just bought a new RoadCrafter last month... :glare: ;)

Keithaba, glad you're okay. Get those highway boys out there to sweep the roads in your parts.

That sucks. Hope your recovery is swift. Thanks for the write-up and pics. They're good reminders about staying alert and wearing gear.

Craig

Bummer Dude, glad neither of you weren’t hurt any worse. I think I will also show this to my wife. When she does occasionally go for a ride it is preceded by at least a couple of mild complaints about having to where "all that stuff".

Sorry about your bad luck, and it's good that ya'll are relatively OK.

Thanks for posting the info and photos of the gear. I pulled out my gloves and compared them with the photos, trying to estimate how mine would hold up under those same conditions.

Double POOP! Sorry to hear this and even more so that your SO got a bit scraped up. I think all of us would rather we get banged up and let the SO walk away without a scratch, but we can't count on that. When you find a pair of riding pants that work well for her, post up so we can all benefit from your research. We're still looking for that "just right" pair of riding pants that has all the right padding, fit, flexibility and comfort that she deserves. Mend quicky and hope she comes around to riding again sooner than later.

Oh man, that sucks--and could happen to anyone. And with your SO on the back too. It's hard enough for some of us to get the SO on the back without ever having crashed.

But planning for the worst, I got Fang some Frank Thomas leathers (photo). They don't zip together like mine, so I want to remedy that--may take the leathers to a cobbler and see what he can do. I also want to get her a back protector like I have: the Ninja Turtle style.

Sorry to hear about your crash, glad to see it wasn't worse as far as injuries goes. With a good lawyer the home owner's proprty insurance would probably cover your losses. Let's hope!

Aw ****! ('poop' is for *******) I hate to read this kinda thing, especially when there's a pillion involved and doubly since you just got that thing back on the road. Glad you're both okay.

Edit: Kieth for Crash Club President!

Well you want a president with experience, right! :rolleyessmileyanim:

Crap man, If you need a fix, I'll let you 2up, but I gotta drive.

Fully expecting to pile up during the doo-dah, I just bought some Firstgear mesh pants like these at S&S powersports in Clarksville.

Something similar at new enough for aboult half off.

Fortunatly, I didn't need to break in the pants. But like they say, it's better to have them, than to need them, so I'm not complaining. Besides, I think there's some sort of 'Murphy's law' involved.

Ballistic mesh with 500 denier Hypertex
According to the man, you want to stay away from anything less than 620, whatever the hell "Hypertex" is. I'm sure it's better than denim, but skin grafts are no fun at all. IMHO, gear isn't the place to go cheap.

NylonOnly certain grades of nylon will do

Many names are given to types of Nylon to make it sound

impressive. Only Cordura Nylon or Dynatec of 620 Denier or

above is suitable for motorcycle gear. Denier refers to the thickness

of the fibers in the weave, higher denier means higher

abrasion and tear strength. Be aware that due to cost, some

makers coat their nylon with a layer of polyurethane that under

heavy pavement friction can melt into your skin.
Saw some nice Kevlar britches on sale for $400.00. Kevlar is the real deal, and not decomposing ever since it was killed. JMHO

When two guys are two-up, is the "Driver" in the front or the back?

I sure wouldn't get on the back of any bike Keith's piloting, even if he promised to let me "drive".

Dam Keith,Sorry to hear of this.

The one real good thing here is NO serious injuries.

Hope your wife is ok and you can get your ride back together soon brother.

Best wish's to you and the wife

Choose your Kevlar carefully. My Draggin shirt tore as

easily as the cords I had on. Duh on the corduroys but

the draggin shirt did nothing.

I need to choose my pants more carefully after seeing this. I've gotten into a jeans habit. (with a leather jacket, etc.)

Glad you folks are OK.

Damn man! That sucks... Hope she has a speedy recovery. I think that's your clue to pickup a shiny new 07 ;)

Sorry about all that man. Glad to hear you guys are ok with just a little rash. No broken bones and no stitches, you guys did alright. Stay safe and don't give up.

Eric

I have a Draggin shirt and this disturbs me. Did the seams give way or did it rub through?

And Keith the gear you show rubbed through, I THOUGHT was good. Olympia and Alpine Stars isn't it?

Sorry to hear about that Keith. Hope all invloved( including the "innocent" motorcycle) recover quickly and fully. Why no insurance on the bike?

Sorry to hear about this but at least no major injuries. You should have used up your quota of accidents for the next 10 years now. ;)
