A spark plug got cross threaded in the aluminum head of my Mustang recently.
Some time ago I read an ad somewhere about a collapsable tap. Once inserted into the stripped out hole the tool is expanded by means of a nut is that is tightened on the stem that goes through the center of the tool to expand the tool bit to the size neccessary to tap the hole. The reasoning being, the tool begins to chase the virgin unboogered threads from the inside out, thus maintaining the original cant of the hole.
I'll be damned if I can remember where I saw this. Sure would be an easy fix if could locate one. I know that among the collective, fertile minds on this board somebody can tell me where to get one of these.
Come on Radman, I know you can do it!
Bananas!
