Hi Guys

I may have posted something similar to this previous but i couldn't find it but anyway has anyone experienced fork noise through warn fork bushes. What could i expect to hear or feel??. As i recall my Ohlins mechanic sad the bushings were slightly worn when i had them stripped down to have the springs replaced and oil changed. Iv'e got a feeling i'm going to pull them down again and replace some parts. Would it be fair to say to do a complete overhaul i would need all the bushings(2 per fork)Gen 1, fork seals(1 per fork) and dust cover(1 per fork). Is that it???. Is there anything else in there i should replace??.

Regards to all

Yes, worn bushings will make noises. They should be changed. A total overhaul should be done. If you are doing the bushings you should change all the seals.

Maybe you should look at the steering head bearing as well. and then of course fresh oil.

But then that's just me thinking!

Thanks Huron. Thats all i wanted to hear. I already have all the parts required to do the steering head job so i will go ahead and order all the parts as you stated.

You will also need the washer on top of the oil seal and retainer clip, you may be able to reuse the old ones but have them just in case you mess them up, you also will need the special tools to remove the inners 2" pvc pipe and a thin wall metal tube to install bushings, your gen 1 may not need it. there is a good thread on fork rebuild
