I guess I need a Left front rotor for my '04. I was getting a fair amount of noise at walking and low speed from the area of the front of the bike, sounding almost like the fairings were loose and vibrating, weird. Well I was checking the tire pressure today and grabbed the rotor, low and behold the LF rotor has some serious play (32nd" or so) on the rotor at the rivets/buttons. I guess I have more than a full floating rotor on the LF, I don't think thats right, as the RF is tight. I assume the amount of play in our semi-floating rotors is basically undetectable, and with the LF I can grab it an it has noticable play. Anybody got a front rotor they want to get rid of? Thanks -

I don't know about the FJR rotor buttons, but I just checked the price for my BMW which is getting loose at 80,000 miles. There are six on a rotor at $8 pc.

Was told that the rivets/buttons are not replaceable, I know they are on other bikes. Maybe that translates into no one ever actually doing it before. Anyways for $76, I ordered a new one from University. Whcih, by the way was close to half of the price I was quoted at my two local Yammy shops!

It makes sense, that on the FJR, you would have to replace the complete rotor assembly. It's not a racebike, so the chances of wearing the outer rotor (braking surface) only are fairly slim.
