Your dealer may have bought it back but Yamaha failed to uphold it's warranty causing you a hassle.Instead of warranty execution,Yamaha gave you intentional bullsh*t.I'd be pissed too. I just sold my 06' to get a different,non-yammy bike. Your experience will make me think long and hard about buying another Yammy. Only had one in 30 years.Good luck.
Gulag, you dumped the FJR. I just wonder why, what you replaced it with, and why you would stay with this forum?

In the Uk, obviously I can't give the dealers name on here.
Did you sign a non-disclosure? Are the Euro-netcops outside your door? Or are you simply telling us a ******** story?
Er...um...Because the guy gave me the money back and lost out on the deal. I don't see that maligning him on here would be good manners. It is Yamaha themselves who let both me and the dealer down.

Lawyers: I wouldn't bother, probably no case there to chase anyway. If there was a recall I would just wait and buy a new one. I was still very pissed off when I wrote that. I am now busy thinking about what to buy next. I took my part-ex back from the dealer which I now have to sell or trade in.

How do you see that as maligning your dealer? The way I (and others who have stated similarly) see it, your dealer was a stand-up guy who did the right thing. To publicize his/her name would be a service to the Yamaha-buying public.

The Dealer was a stand up guy. It sounds like anyone would like to deal with a guy like that.

If you can't say the dealers name, I don't believe your story! :p

Just wait'll I get bored enough to rip yours apart and skooter-ize it.

hmmmm...lessee...Photoshop, ImageReady, an hour or so to rip an animated GIF apart and put it back together...

Yep, it's do-able.

Bein' the I.T. guy is fun...as long as I'm sitting in front of a PC and no one sees the monitor screen to see what's on it, no one questions what I'm doin'.

:yahoo:

Cute Howie, I likee.................now speed it up. I'm twisted bad enough before but to have skoots head...........well............now I have an excuse!!!!!!!!!!! :dribble:

I think maxspeed probably resides in the UK. May be wrong, there are far far fewer lawyers over there! Hence his reluctance to sue as in the UK there is far less reliance on law suits.

When i lived there we settled our own problems without a lawyer. Far less litigeous society.

Think Japan has the least amount of lawyers per 100.000 people. We have the most!

Oh **** did not read all the posts yes he does reside in the UK Duh!!!!!!!

Anyway the rest of it makes some minimal amount of sense.

max, do you think that all 06s are afflicted with the same malady? There is a limited amount of bitching and wingeing going on (I am a perp) regarding the throttle. Your situation sounded very different.

When do you pick up your Honda?

Eh, I'd just buy another one & forget about it.
I probably would, just still pissed off. Might buy an 05.

No matter how pissed I was at a dealer. If he agreed to give me ALL my money back, I would have told him to just get me a new bike. He should be able to make something out of a bad situation for him.

You get all your money back and he get's a used bike with 1100+ miles on it.

Take a look at the new Chrysler/Jeep 30 day FREE trial. If you don't like a car after 30 days take it back and get your money back! (THEN READ THE FINE PRINT!)

You get your money back, less so much per mile you put on the car, + a big (about $2,500) fee for turnin fee etc.

You have a real good dealer and he ate your loss. I say you should buy a new bike from him again.

Seems fair to me.

However if Yamaha decide to announce a recall I will be there with my lawyers. All the details of what has happened over the last 2 months has been carefully documented.
Dude, I have no respect for thought processes like these. Running to your lawyers is only propagating our societal litigious tendencies, which in net effect serve nobody other than the lawyers themselves. You may think it would be cool to sue someone, but keep in mind that someone will be in line to sue you back.

You have no case. There was no negligence. You have no loss. You have no permament injuries. Your vendor made good on refunding your purchase. Face it, you've got nothing, other than some hope for attention by screaming for your lawyers. In the end, you'll get less attention as a result.

And I thought I was the only one. Refreshing to hear someone like me, against the onslaught of national vaginization brought on by the ambulance chasing shylocks.
