I was wheeling mine around while rearranging the garage a few weeks ago, and was shocked at how small it felt compared to the FJR...

if anyone's interested in this bike, i own two, they're great bikes, bulletproof engines, can still find parts and mechanics for them because legends racers steal the engines out of them for their cars. should pay attention to how 2nd gear is, due to being high hp and hi torque bike, bad shifting into 2nd gear can cause it to go bad. should also check out the clutch slave---if you see melted paint below the slave (left side as sitting on bike, near kickstand), needs clutch slave rebuilt, which is pretty simple. 24,000 miles on the clock is nothing for an fj, if that's a concern. may not even need a valve adjustment for another 20,000 miles. carbs are super easy to work on, there are multiple pics on the web of me working on carbs on the side of the road. easy to get to, easy to work on in an emergency.

I wanted one of those sooooooo bad when I was in hs, luckily I couldn't afford it then. I don't think my marriage could afford it now either :D . She's allowing 2 in the garage next year, I don't think 2 now or 3 next year would fly! :trinibob:

have a friend (Dash Dye) who rode an FJ1200 in the 2003 Iron Butt Rally. he was able to buy it, prep it, and sell it aftwards without hardly any loss (parting out the LD farkles individually).
