That review makes me think the used ones on the market might be a better alternative.

Anybody with an FZ1 lower the seat? I know of one for sale locally that I like but the seat is too high for my wife and daughter and the bike woulod be primarily for them to use. .

A friend has been seriously looking for a FZ1, I suggested that, as usual, first year of a bike/major changes is never the one to get. He's looking for an 05 as a result.

My wife (5ft. 1in.) rides an 01 FZ1, I made lowering links for it from a pattern on the FZ1OA site. There are plenty of aftermarket ones available if you don't want to make them yourself. Very easy to install. JB

Well, this is all relative to what you've been riding. Compare this bike to any other bike I've ridden, (including the '03 and '06 FJR's) this bike is more fun and a lot better than I'll ever be. I don't regret my purchase at all. You guys know about the grin when you first got on your FJR's. Now, for LD riding I'll use my shafty FJR, but to have fun in twisties, I'm happy on the FZ. :yahoo: That...is just MHO.

petey, you have an FZ1 and FJR?
Now all you need is a dual sport!
Orangevale, I sure would love to, but my legs are too damn short :( and reaching the ground on anything with two wheels is a challenge. I did own a 1150GS beemer for a while, which is realy too heavy for going off road. It was for me anyway, at 5'8 and a 29" inseam.
