Pardon the dust from the table saw and the unwashed bug guts, but I was out for a ride today and snapped some shots of my FZ6/bag set up.

I chose to go with Kappa instead of Givi as I wanted a matte black finish on the bags, and the Givi bags were just too shiny and busy for my liking.

THAT said, I much prefer this set of bags. Way lighter, roomier interiors, and no wrestling with the latch like with my Givi V46.

33 ltr sidebags that tuck under the undertail exhaust, and a 48 ltr topcase that fits my fullface Shoei plus my gloves and tankbag at stops.

I also have a Givi touring flip taller windscreen and bar risers that go 1" up, and then another 1" back.

Heated grips, and a heated vest plug in, run by those two switches on the left cockpit panel. Ignition dependant, dual setting; high low off

NICE! :)
How cold was it today ??

-1c when I headed out and -5c when I got home.

Hmmmmm....those temps are...er...uhm...invigorating!

It looks good, Barb, like they were factory designed for the bike.

If you get the F-Zed set up, and it's more nimble than the "porkier" FJR, won't it be a difficult transition to ride the beast?

I like "The Beast" for the big hwy. Seems a bit more planted on the interstates.

But for weekends away around here, on the twisties? Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuummm!

Quite nice. But somehow I pictured you as an FZ1 kinda gal. Dunno why, just did. All in all, a very nice bike.

Pics look nice, even the faster red:) Do you have a volt meter installed to keep an eye in the tiny charging system?

I bought a 07 new and couldn't agree more about how much fun the little fizzer is on a twisty canyon road.

It'll leave the Feejer in the dust on the first corner.

How much did the bags change the handling?

It was my 1st bike, ever. I went from a 250 Rebel in my bike course, to this. I road tested for my bike licence on this bike.

*LOL*, funny you should say that. I have a Datel waiting to go on one of my bikes, but I am still afraid to cut plastics on my own. It makes more sense to put it on this bike, thats for sure.

As for the handling with the bags? I notice these bags WAY less on this bike than the bags on the FJR.

I had a DL650 and found I could run electric hand grips, jacket liner and HID lights together, but just barely. I don't know the alternator size of the FZ6 but would guess it would likely be near what the wee strom's is so bet you will be OK. Still it is good to keep an eye on the voltmeter. Datel is great and prob. can mount somewhere in the front instrument area. BTW, everytime I take tupperware off either my FJR or ST1300, I swear I want to go back to a naked or seminaked bike like yours, or a Tiger 1050 or V-Strom, :angry2: .
