Added the G2 Throttle tube and Grip Puppies. What a diffrence. The G2 helped with the jerky throttle and the Puppies made a big diffrence by increasing the grip size. Had planned to release the center Throttle Return Spring by a turn but just left it alone after the G2 and puppies.

Yes, I like my setup also. As I have previously posted, I had released the center spring before the G2 install and ended up re-springing the carb because of soft throttle return. It would stick slightly even with lithium grease applied on the inside of the G2 and handle bar. I didn't like that at all as I like a crisp throttle return in all situations. I also installed a MADCO throttle lock at the same time so I don't generally need to hold the throttle during long, fairly constant throttle applications.

The setup works well. I have an AE with the heated grips - no problem. I also have the TM throttle locks -- also no problem.

I've installed the G2 but no grip puppies yet. I've got no problems with the throttle return.

On a side note Herky....the Cobra in your av looks an awful lot like my old Midstates Cobra. What make is yours??

It's a Hurricane. Molded after one of the original CSX's. I just took it out for a drive today...great fun.

The lithium works OK, but I suppose graphite would have worked better - I just didn't have any on hand at the time. I have no return problems now with the springs at stock setup.

Do you have the factory heated grips?

No non-heated. I would think the grip puppies would keep the heat away from your hands. One diffrence I noted was the added thickness of the grip puppies seem to make the throttle easier to turn and hold at a steady throttle opening. The factory grips are just too small in diameter.

The grip puppies do allow the heat from heated grips to pass though.

I ordered mine from Umotors, If I recall correctly the cost was $7.00 and some change. I just called Mike up and gave him the parts unlimited part number and had the grips four days later.

Link Part number 0630-0361.

installed the G2 have the grip puppies and wear leather gloves in the AM ride to work. The heat goes through all of em just fine!

Like Rickster said, make sure the cables are adjusted properly. Get as much slack out as possible and I used the heavier lube with no problems but personally think any lube will work and also make sure you lube the cable ends on the throttle cam and ramp and lube the inside of the cables with cable lube or 30w oil as the manual reccomends. After a few thousand miles adjust the cable slack again as there will be some streaching. Ride safe, PM. <><

HerkyPilot, I am thinking of "respringing" my G2 throttle. How did you do it? Was it difficult? Would appreciate explanation of how to do.
