The fiance' and I planned a ss/bb and wanted to get a seat first. We got in on the group buy for Bill Mayer and went from a corbin with a backrest to the Mayer. Well, Bill Mayer as you all probably know does not make a backrest for their seats. So I contacted Gerauld and ordered a luggage rack and backrest from him. It is awesome! The gerauld backrest comes up higher on my SO and she prefers it over the corbin. She liked it so much she was dosing off during the ride, now that's comfort. My experience with Gary was exceptional and his workmanship is very nice. The rack was easy to install and is rock solid. It will provide for a better rack to carry a large shooter's bag and as I have seen in some posts a cooler. Anyone on the fence about getting one of these needs to jump right off and order yours up today!

Gary's rack blends so will that a friend thought is was OEM. When he looked at the O8's he was a little bummed that Yamaha had discontinued the larger rack.

I got one in satin powder coat and it looks really good on my 08. My wife really likes having the backrest to. The quality and look of the rack and backrest are top notch.

I received my rack and rest this morning had it on in about 15 minutes.

The quality of the materials, fasteners, and workmanship are as good as it gets.

It looks like an OEM part and blends with the lines of the bike flawlessly.

Thank You Gary!

I have a rack and rest from Gary, Truly excellent work! I doubt very much that Yamaha, with their bazillion dollar company

could not come close to the work that Gary does. His products are a must for any FJR owner.

I got a rack and rest for my '06 a couple of years ago, and thought it was a little pricey, but then I am.... frugal.

I ordered anyway, since there was nothing else I liked and I needed one. When it arrived (I got up on the waiting list because I would accept a slightly used one that looked like new, at a slightly reduced price), I was well pleased. Even a dummy like me can recognize quality work, and it was. Fit and finish as described.

More than that, I would get an occasional email from Gary asking "Wha'sup and how's the rack working, doing any riding, etc?" Never got that from a vendor before. Now I should imagine he doesn't have time to shoot the bull with clients, as he is trying to fill orders.

I had a chance to select one of his donated racks at the SFO when I got picked, and I thought about grabbing it and selling it later (it was 1st. gen, and you can only use 1 at a time), but I'm glad I passed when I saw a guy putting it on his bike the next morning, and commenting about how good it looked and how much he was going to use it.

I use it a lot 2 up, and it still looks good.

I have one but haven't mounted it yet. Just got it before I left for NY for a bit. Just got back and I am in the process of moving to a new place but I look foward to getting it mounted along with the Pazzo Adjustable Levers I bought too!! :D
