Just checking to see if anyone might be interested in selling their 2730 to upgrade to one of the newer models.

I dunno - one of the newer models or one with more features maybe? Maybe I should have phrased it differently. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in selling their 2730 because they plan on upgrading to a newer model and no longer need the 2730.

Randy,I bought one brand new off e-bay for $600 with the xm antennae.

That was the lowest price That I found for a new one,you can probably get a slightly used one for between$500-$600 range.

I have one (not for sale right now), and posted yesterday that the Garmin website now show's the 2730 as discontinued. Not sure why -- it has the same issues as the 2720 (fogging between the display and the touch-screen)... weird.

You should be able to find a NOH for around $500 or new one in the box for $629 (shop.com) Clicky

good luck!

I think the 2730 was discontinued due to cost. (my opinion)

It was the only model that came standard with the $200 XM puck (antenna/receiver)

Much lower margin for profit.

The 2820 that replaced it added bluetooth but took away the standard XM/weather/traffic built in.

If I ever see continued fogging I will just move it to my cage and replace it with something different.

Knock on wood, no fogging here yet.

I might sell my 2730 but I would have to keep th GXM 30 XM radio antenna because I would like to get the 378 that shows actual weather radar. Let me know if you might be interested.

Certainly interested, depending on price. Shoot me a pm or email when you're ready.

I have the 2730 and bet they discontinued it because the XM radio broadcast over FM doesn't work worth a crap. I used this feature for the first time over the Christmas break on our 2800 mile drive. Even if there wasn't a local station around, the signal was weak, monotone, had lots of static, and I had to turn my FM tuner WAY up just to hear anything. And then if there is even a hint of a radio station out there....forget it.

As a GPS, its great and would not trade it for anything right now. Unless you plan on using the headphone jack to listen to the XM, I wouldn't bother. Save your money and get the 2720. Yes, you can listen to it through the 12V speaker on the plug, but that sounds just as bad if not worst.
