I'm heading to Western North Carolina from South Florida.........Does anyone live or travel along there???

Just wondering....I know I'll be paying $3+, but I wanted to make sure I would be able to get gas.

Down here in West Palm all of the BP stations are closed, NO Gas, but Race track, Exxon, etc...Seem to have it.

I rode from Johnson City, TN to Lake Lure, se of Asheville, NC yesterday. Filled up on the south side of Asheville at $3.39/gal. The station was busy at all 8 - 10 pumps but seemed to have fuel available. On the way back, we stopped on I-26 at the Weaverville exit (I think) on the north side of Asheville. First station had signs up that said "NO GAS." Went across the interstate to 2 other stations. The first had no premium...only unleaded regular. Across the street, the BP station had all flavors w/ no limit @ $3.49/gal.

Hope this helps.

I don't know about I95, but I do know that I saw a couple small independant stations closed in TN. Also, throughout TN, gas was $3.29 or HIGHER.

Then, in KY it was as low as $2.83.

Then in IN, it was back to $3+ most places.

Wonder why TN was so high? Too close to NO and all the Katrina mess?
