Gas tank

I'm looking for a slightly dinged up or scratched tank from a gen II FJR.

Just curious

I presume scratched/dented to make it cheaper. Are you looking for a tank to customize (make larger)? I like the 7.5gal tank on my ZG1000 Concours. Mental wanderings/musing have included wondering how much effort it would be to slightly enlarge the FJR's tank to add an extra gallon or so to allow greater than /or at least close to 300 mile range on one tank (when getting a normal 40mpg with spirited and/or fully loaded touring with larger screen)

If such is your plan, please provide project updates.

You are correct. I want to raise areas of the tank, widen others to gain about 2 gal. All with the goal of making it look like something that Yamaha could have put on the bike from the factory.

I'd rather not experiment with my current tank that is flawless after 30K.

It is a "rare" on at that, or so he says ;-)

I'm looking for something a bit cheaper to start cutting up. Thanks for the lead though!

I found one on Ebay but it has a huge dent for $100.

I guess the "rare" bit is that it doesn't have any gas in it?
