I have Geico because they beat everyone else's rates including Allstate, Foremost, and the other big names (had Allstate for years on my other motorcycle and had Foremost on my Japanese mini truck)- not sure what the factors are/were but they beat everyone by over a $80 year! My brother lives in a different county and is three years older got a quote and they were higher than others- he went with USAA.

That being said- I have no experience with their customer service- have not had to make a claim, so no input on that.

Geico took good care of me when it mattered.

Great experience.

Hope I never need them again. ( knock on wood ) lol

Was a customer of GEICO for about 2 decades or so. Their funding of radar guns (or at least low-cost provisioning) for smaller PDs, as well as their miles-per-day cap on their coverage were enough to send me elsewhere. In their forms they ask if you have a radar detector. If you say yes, they won't write a policy. If you say no, and a later ticket, etc. notes that a detector was in/on one of your vehicles (covered or not) they will use it as reason to deny payment of your claim (falsifying your application).

I got a quote from Geico since I have car insurance through them, but they were higher than Progressive. I have 4 motorcycles insured, but even just comparing the 2 primary bikes only, Geico was more costly.

Yup, what Bounce said. They used to (not sure if they still do, but I'm guessing so) give radar guns to law enforcement agencies for free. Then, if you get a speeding ticket, they automatically jack your rates, regardless of a previously clean record. Seems to me like a tire repair place throwing nails all over the road in front of their shop. Bounce also made a couple of more points I was unaware of, so I'm assuming they're still shady (tricky? conniving? sneaky?). No sir, I don't like it.

That being said, I'm sure there are many whom have had decent experiences with them. Make sure you ask questions before you commit.

Talk to to SAFECO Insurance at Ride West, 206-527-5511or fill out a quote request online at https://www.ridewestinsurance.com I just started my second year with SAFECO and am pretty happy for an older guy.

I pay $131 a year with Allstate. The Ticket Defence Team is your friend. I have them on speed dial. That's why my insurance is low! :)

Went from Progressive to GEICo, as they were much cheaper. Have GEICO for the cars and they took care of us after a drunk driver totalled our van.

Seem like just switching will get you better rates. I had GEICO a long time ago and switched to Progressive when I got my FJ.

Got full coverage from progressive for $209......roadside assist cost 12 bucks a year and is supposed to provide free towing to the nearest place that can fix the bike...not that I expect to need it for the Feej

I think Geico policies also prohibit any participation in "contests of speed or endurance". Anyone participating in rallys or even Iron Butt rides might find themselves in violation of their policy terms.

Having been on the other side, A Geico insured dude, glanced of a pole and ran over a bunch of trees n shit in my yard.

All I can say if if getting them to pay for the damage their insured did to personal property was this hard. I can't imagine what it would have been like if he'd hit me on my bike.

No, thanks.

Just to mention for those who do have Progressive and cannot ride all year long, they have a winter lay-up period which helps to save some more $$. YOU need to call them as it's not automatically done though.

Geico allows the same suspension of ride coverage, but covers you for any garage damage. My optimistic side left the coverage in place over the winter, and this year it didn't really pay off, but got out a couple times.

I'm still curious what people report for annual riding mileage as it has a big impact on premiums for Geico and some other companies.
