hello

I have broke the generator cover gasket, I need to close the engine and ride the bike..

is a bad idea to use liquid gasket to seal the generator cover?

I always use a new gasket and make sure that I have scraped off ALL the old gasket material, others will have a different opinion about this. You could use a liquid gasket material, just make sure that there is no extra to squeeze out and get into the small engine oil passages.

According to the Yamaha Factory Service Manual, you should use a RTV sealant to carefully but thoroughly seal the rubber grommet that the stator wires pass through. All the surfaces that the grommet contacts and the rubber grommet should be completely oil free and then coated with an oil compatible engine RTV sealant.

Just be SURE you use a sealant that is "oxygen sensor safe". The tube will say so if it is. If it doesn't, it probably isn't.

The wrong brand or type of RTV/sealer can wreck your O2 sensor, so be aware.
