George is the proud mother of a newborn R1. 360 pounds, red, and has both wheels straight and true. George was able to deliver the newborn without a C-section. Lisa Stevens wishing him well as he recovers from the ordeal.

He then passed around cigars and we all congratulated him.

Nurse Doug Chapman helps irrigate George's birth canal after the lenghty delivery. Candystriper Tobie looks on.

Rabi Warchild performed the all important circumcision of the stock grips.

And Tobie figures out what to do with the tail assembly afterbirth. Who new the R1 was related to Holsteins.

With 47.1 miles on the odometer, an oil change, farkled with helibars, sliders, Widder connections, removal of stickers, and an integrated rear light cluster to get rid of the stock dangly turd-pod--he headed towards Newport via Portland with Eric Vallaincourt.

Since he's planning to do an in-state Saddle Sore--he asked for one last photo of him. Hopefully, with this new 180 hp baby this isn't the last time we see George walking without a limp.

The carpet was a little gay, but there was plenty of space in there at least. No cages in the garage. Those guys in Tri-Cities can party though. I turned in early, but G & Matt were up till 1 am. Took til 1 pm to get that boy on the road!

I just got home to Oregon City, OR and G continued on South. Butt burn started setting in about 120 miles into the ride he told me, but the lack of wind protection was making itself known far earlier. :D He has heat wired, so hopefully he won't be frozen too badly.

We discovered that the bike has about a 150 mile range, 125 found the reserve light. Pasco to Hood River almost maxed the range. I had my fuel cell full, just in case we ran the R-1 dry while looking for his max reserve range.

Current plan was for George to continue South on the 5 to Albany, then head West to Newport on Hwy 20, calling it for the night in Newport, or later if he was feeling good.

At least I got out for a ride this weekend. Even if there was snow at my place when I left on Sat and it was only a couple degrees above freezing in the Columbia Gorge and raining from Troutdale to The Dalles. Warmer the farther East I went and though a cold morning in Pasco at 24F, pretty darn nice late morning with sun and upper 40's.

Did nobody explain to the boy the wonders of lamb's wool? Even a lamb's wool wash mit, slit open and placed over the seat, will alleviate a great deal of the discomfort. I'll bet he's walking funny today! :D

Is this the new Iron BUtt basic course...take a brand new bike and ride it 1,000 miles?

Yeah, well, I had to take a nap this afternoon after you and G left. Glad to see he made it out of the state. He's your state's problem now :D

Bet he's wishing he borrowed that Airhawk. And I hope I spliced that crimped that connector correctly

GOod to see you OCfjr.

Am I going to have to come out to teach him how to ride that thing?

Congratulations on the new baby, G! You must give your older child enough attention to avoid jealousy.

Nice!

If all goes well and the planets align, I shall take delivery of a 50th Anniversary Yellow in April.

An FJR for touring, and the R1 for day trips and posing! OMG!

Denchell has one of the yellow ones for sale in Sunnyside. :dribble:

And Georgie is thinking about a fuel cell for this bike for some specialized LD riding.

Good to see you FJR and R1 boys this last weekend. Those margaritas at dinner were sure tasty. Thanks for the hospitality Ignacio.

Linda and I made it home about 4:00am Sunday morning with a 90 minute rest area nap before we hit Hood River.

I gotta admit my jealousy over G and WC's new R1 sporties. Those bikes are nice. Can't wait to hear George's ride report.

Nice bike. I am envious. I was at the local dealer a couple of days ago to get some fork oil and I was drooling all over the '06 sport bikes. I told my wife that I was in there looking and she asked if I was thinking about tradin the FJR in. I think she was serious.

I too have a piece of carpet in my garage but mine is there to catch the oil drips from my old bike. :D

When I told my wife I was looking at sport bikes, she assumed correctly that I was thinking about adding to my stable. I know that she didn't think for a second about me giving up my FJR :D

How about a pic of the new tail light assembly.

I do have a new phrase in my vocab...

Dangly turd-pod....... Good one!!!!!

Sorry. I seemed to be more in capturing the human-to-human experience of the weekend than documenting the details of a bike that I can't afford and jealous of.

I did find a picture of several others bikes showing the before and after.

Before with Dangly Turd-Pod

Also gone were the passenger foot pegs and license moved to a bracket mod on the pegs holes you can make out. Hopefully the paper temporary plate they gave him doesn't catch fire.

Is the rear brakelight a dual function, serving as the turn signals as well? Seen a few sportbikes in the last couple of days that did it that way.

Geeze, if you're gonna edit my posts and least do it my style! <_<

See? ;)
Hmmm, I didn't realize I edited your post. Didn't know that I could. That could make things interesting. B)
