Givi rack, backrest, and rainproofness....

If I were to install a rack and backrest on the givi box (givi brand rack/backrest), does it remain rainproof? I know they require drilling, so .. . . . just wanna know. Thanks.

I have the rack on mine and it has never leaked. They come with rubber bushings that insert between the rack and the lid. Mine are becoming weather-checked after 5 years so I may treat them with some silicone although they didn't leak this Winter while commuting.
