Well, I have decided that I'm in over my head!

I have looked at images, I have pulled up and out on the nose,

I have double-checked inside the nose cowling for anything that

might even possibly be related to taking the nose cowl off,

but I can't for the life of me find it.

Unless someone wants to come to San Jose (lunch is on me),

I'm gonna have to cough up $130 clams to "Git-R-Done!"

(Just for a stupid indicator bulb...sheesh!)

I can't ride with the bike in pieces.

Jim

EDIT: I'm so stupid. I though he was talking about the turn lamp, not the indicator in the dash. Man, working on that HAS to suck.

FJRocket,

And you are riding what year?
I have an '05 w/ABS, so it should be the same.

where you can access the bulb by flexing out the side panel with the top panels off and the inner panels unscrewed.
Flexing out WHAT side panel? (I would think that means that you pull on the tupperware?)

You must be missing something. Missing just one fastener (probably on the inner panels) can make it nearly impossible to get to the lamp.
Are you referring to the inner panels under the nose that the lower fairings are attached to?

If so,what does that have toi do with the UPPER fairings?

Sorry if I sound frustrated.

I think he is trying to change the indicator bulb in the dash, not the bulb in the directional itself.

Geezer's right, FJRocket.

I believe that I DID mention it was an indicator bulb, not one of the directionals.

If it WAS the directional, I would have had it done the first day, but after almost

a week of not being able to ride 'cause it's in pieces, I've pretty much had it.

The dealer told me about an hour and a half, so maybe I'll see if I can

watch them do it.

What sucks is I have to try to remember where what screw/fastener goes where

when I put it back together.

Oops, my bad. Semantics got me. Now that you mention it, I even read the other thread about your darn gauge with the bad blinker.

Also found this on another thread.

Remove all 4 inner panels.

Remove mirrors.

Remove windshield.

Remove upper fairing panels.

Remove winshield motor access panel.

Remove nose panel (if you can get to that center screw!) or Remove the headlight assembly. The panel comes with it.

Ouch.....that is the mother of all bulb replacements. Maybe just could close one eye and turn up the radio. lol. PM. ;)
