I'm located just south of the NY-PA border just off rt 219.

It's about 400 miles, via 219, to Lewisburg from here.

I'm planning on doing it on Thursday (9/18/08).

(I'll do 219 the whole way if weather cooperates. If not I may do some superslabbing instead.)

Just wondering if anyone wants to link up for this trip?

Also, If any of you are coming from farther north on Wednesday and want a

stop-over spot for Wed night, I've got room.

Brody,

I was going to leave from CT after work on Wednesday and try to get to the area around West Chester. I was then going to map out something that takes me West and then South. If you like send me a note we can talk and try to hook up.

That's a nice route, in case you haven't ridden it

Well I'll have to keep an eye out for other southbound FJR's on 219. Thats my route from Buffalo south. I'm cutting out of Sudbury on Wed, and should be through your neck of the woods on Thurs morning.

OK where you guys been hiding???

Sally has to work Thursday so we are leaving Friday early AM. I took 219 all the way last year, and have been on it several times. Every year a little more is changed to 4 lane but there are a lot of small town slow zones, lots of slow truck traffic, so plan on passing when possible (wink wink) or it will take more than all day.

Believe me I know 219 all the way from Buffalo, NY to Rich Creek, VA.

I've done 219 many times.

If the roads are dry I enjoy it.

Yes, there are a lot of small towns to go thru.

"passing when possible (wink wink)"------That's almost anywhere on the feejer. :yahoo:

If the weather is bad I may think about interstate alternatives.

Marty,

Another thought, which day are you doing the return trip to Kane?

when are you guys heading back to Pa. I'm coming back Monday and was thinking of taking 219 up to Ormsby, pa. to visit my uncle. all my relatives are from that area. i lived in St Marys for 7 years. my uncle works at the screen plant in cane and my grandmother retired from Zippo.

Marty,

I'm riding down on Thursday with JMarran. I plan to take the slab (I81) south through most of PA, and then head west to pick up 219 around Benbush, WV. That route is about 600 miles from my place and I don't think I can get there in daylight if I don't use the slab for a good part of the ride. If we don't see you on the road we'll see you at the Brier. :drinks:

I need to head home Sun and be at work Monday morning........

Aw, what the hey............................I'm the boss.

Just rescheduled Monday.

Ride home on Monday.

Back to work on Tues now.

Ride home on Monday.
They're ya go! I may ride back with ya as well. Though I've been toying about running down the Blueridge for a pass at the Dragon before coming home. I've got the entire following week off, depends on how mom is doing.

Most of my trips to Deal's Gap have left me only enough time for 1 or 2 passes.

BUT, the last time I was there, it was on the FJR and I got 10 runs in. :p

Killboy.com clicked my picture 32 times that day. :D

click for link

My Pictures are on pages 3 thru 12.

the numbers are; 74,75,76,85,86,87,113,114,115,141,142,143,167,168,169,170,189,190,213,214,

246,253,254,255,256,261,262,263,283,284,285,286

If you're there on a nice week-day, it's much nicer to do multiple runs cause it really gives you a chance to get used to the turns.

Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sally has to be back to work on Tuesday, so it looks like we have a fine looking group riding north on Monday!!! I'm in! Wait for me! :yahoo:

Roy PM me who yer uncle was at Kane Screen. I'm from NJ but Sally is a native and curious.

Brody, I did 3 runs at the Gap 3 years ago on the FZ, the middle run was completely alone, no cages no baggers just me and Sally. Wore out a brand new rear tire that weekend, 765 miles.

We went there last year but it was so dang crowded we went on to 28 instead. I am headed there again a week after EOM. Might take the BRP all the way down.

I'd like to get some photos of me and Sally on the FJR like this at EOM.
