"Silver ABS 04 for sale, 8500 miles. Goodies include: headlite stone guards, big windshield, Russel Daylong velour saddle (200 lbs & 32" inseam), Throttlemeister, Barbacks, Yamaha topcase. Y.E.S. warrantee until 9/08. Awesome condition

$9,600"

I test rode this bike and it runs very well. New Michelin Pilot Road in rear, original Metzler in front...good tread, flat spot in center, will order replacement if I buy it.

Wallowed when ridden in and out of hiway ramps...could be air pressure or front tire. Has clear title and it < 2hrs away.

How does this sound to you?

:D

The '04 Cruelian (mispelling deliberate) Silver, is the best color of the USA assortment. It is undectable by radar, except maybe by Oregon troopers at 6 am on a Sunday morning. This in itself, makes it a bargain. :agent:

Too bad the guy didn't spring for a dang new front tire before selling. I pushed my OEM Metz to 10K and was soooo happy when I switched to the Pilot Roads. A new one might be all that is needed there for the wallowing mentioned, and a SuperBrace tightens it up a notch more. The Russell is a real plus but only if it fits you. The topcase is a plus only if you like it. The farkles don't add much unless it is what you'd get yourself. The overall resale of this bike seems to be holding pretty well, though, being a limited edition and all.

Good luck, and enjoy the decision!

The "farkles" I would have added myself. It's setup as to how I sold my CBR 1100 earlier this year.

for a grand more why not a 2005

Because this 04 is already setup and ready to go. I must admit, that blue is hot!

:D

Well, I bought the 04 tonight! Riding it home on Rte 9 between Brattleboro and Bennington VT, the bike was wallowing in the turns. I check the air pressure and it was 30 pounds hot F/R. I upped it to 45 hot and will return down to 40 cold.

This weekend, I will go to Towanda PA, to visit a few CBR XX buddies for NEXXT. I'm gonna get razzed on for sure but I'll survive...I hope!

JJP FJR, Good score, so welcome to the assylum...

You got the best possible color available to the 'Mericuns and a Russell seat that most of us covet. Make sure you keep it locked!

Also, let us know if the air pressure or a new front tire fixed the wallow you mentioned, and other impressions as you attempt to keep up with the XX's.

Many of the rank and file have used the SuperBrace and suspension mods to improve handling to the next level...

Put 600 miles on it since Friday night. 43mpg and then 46 mpg. Air pressure was 29 f/r. Brought it up to 40 f/r.

Didn't keep up with the XX's but it was sure nice to see the gang again...even if they did razz on me about the FJR.

Superbrace will be a winter mod. I'll keep shopping for "farkles"

:D
