short story is...worked for the railroad 20 years, old customer needs a small part on his car so he can ship it.from my house in moreno valley ca to adamana ariz its 550 miles i way,i figure wtf, might as well kill 2 birds with one stone.leaving moreno valley at 3am monday, flagstaff is about 2 hours south of destination and colder than a well diggers ahole so will try to go thru there midday when its warm and back thru b4 its freezing.might as well get paid to ride.wish me luck.

Good luck! Take some pics if you have the time and let us know how it goes. I'm waiting for longer days and warmer weather to try the 1500.

Good for you DJ!

Uhh,,, for what's is worth, from the Candy Butt ASS prezidnete...

Reasonable speed wins the long distance day - stay outta the radar zone.

Have food at the tank-bag-ready. Powerbars are good.

Take several gloves - thinner for when warm (get to snacks/water while on the bike), bulkier for when cold.

Have good tunes at the ready.. (shouldn't be a prob for you, eh?)

Have water at the handy, just like the snacks.

Don't dawdle at stops. Get on with it. If the wheels ain't turning, you ain't making money.

Stop when needed. Pee when you want. If cold, warm up. You have 24 hours.

Keep Squirmin'. Move your ass all over that bike. Isometrics are your friend. Stretch the legs, arms, neck, ankles, butt.

When you think you've had enough, get off the bike and stretch out - 5 minutes will do you wonders.

Pay attention to your paper work!

Most importantly - DON'T **** UP. If you hit the wall, let it go. Live to ride tomorrow.

Good luck Mr. DJBill, I'll be thinking of you Monday!

If you average those speeds you can do a BBG. All you need to average is 45. Good luck and have fun. :yahoo:

Mr. Candy Ass gives sound advice.

The only thing I'd add: if it's your first one, skip the pictures. It's the time off the bike that kills long rides. Get the ride done, then ask someone to snap your weary, smiling mug.

And don't mess with the cold. It can screw up your judgment in a hurry.

Good luck and be safe!
