Hi folks, quick call out to any members in the Las Vegas area: can you recommend a competent shop in the area? I'm riding down to Henderson for a conference next weekend, will be in the area for the week, and would like to get a few maintenance items looked after while I'm there.

Thanks!

Griff

I can only speak for the one in my area, Which is only 100 miles south of Vegas... Good folks and competent.

While they are a Kawi dealer, They work an all makes. They also have good prices on tires. Clicky

What are you wanting done?

Thanks for the point-out Galaxy, unfortunately Kingman is a bit far from Henderson; I'd prefer a place I can drop the bike off that was a walk/cab ride from where I'll be staying.

As for service, I'm (over) due for the valve check, and won't be able to get it done locally before next weekend. My plan was to ride to Henderson for a week-long conference, and if I can get some things looked after while I'm there, so much the better.

My experiences with the local shops have not been favorable. So much so that whatever I can't do my self, I'll ride the 200+ miles to Rancho Cucamunga to have them do it. YMMV (Thanks for the tip Adam. Kingman is a bit closer than Rancho Cucamunga.)

That said, RideNow Powersports on Boulder Highway is real close to Henderson and depending on when you're dropping off the bike, I would be happy to give you a lift.

Thanks for the offer Eek. Still not 100% sure if I'm riding or flying, but will be sure to let you know if I need a lift.

Saw some glowing reviews online for a place in Henderson called 'Green Valley Motorcycles'; ever heard of them?

I've never heard of "Green Valley Motorcycles." I'll ask my local riding friends and maybe pay a visit.

I've dealt with RideNow a bit (both the North Las Vegas store, and the recently assimilated store on Rancho); the Rancho location was previously an independent shop that handled everything but Yamaha, and their techs seem to be more "with it". Granted, its not close to Henderson (so is your conference at Green Valley Ranch?), but its the only place I know of in town that I'd let anyone with a wrench near my bike.

Yep, Green Valley Ranch is where the conference is... no idea what that place is like, heard it's ok.

Green Valley Ranch is nice and "The District" (food & shops) is next door.

Green Valley Motorcycles. Only one positive recommendation from friends. However, not a single bad thing mentioned from anyone else. Most, like me, have never heard of it. From what I've heard, the tech is a former R6 race tech. I haven't had the time to swing by and check it out yet. I'll post up if I do.

Thanks for chasing this down Eek... still snowing here today, so it looks like I'll have to leave the Feej in the barn and fly down :(

Happy to help. Besides, it was good to come out of my cave of solitude and look into a new (to me) shop.
