The amazing Dr. Rich asked me if I'd like to ride with him to Bodega Bay today so he could get crabs.

I told him I could save him the trip. There's a little motel down on Stockton Blvd. where...

what?

Oooooh.

Dungeness crabs. Well, that's different.

Okay. Left Sacramento at 7 for breakfast at Dr. Rich's at 8. Thank you Susan. 37 years with the Doc and still sane. What a gal!

Okay.

A picture story. No captions this time.

This nice weather has GOT to end! It's Nov. 22, for cryin' out loud.

Looks great OM... and no shots for the crabs.

The roads look so clean... good to see your yellow melon out there :p B)

Looks like clam chowder was tasty....

JUst think if O M would have posted I could have gotten some crabbs also in saco on stockton blvd to, for $5.00 or less.

I invited Old Michael to go with me to Bodega Bay to see if we could pick up some fresh crabs knowing full well that his posting would be something like " We went to the coast and came back with crabs" He did tell me that a former girlfriend could have saved us the trip but that is a different story. The day was clear and crisp. We left and the temp was about 60 degrees. Once in Bodega Bay we learned that the crab season has been a disaster but we were able to pick up a few of the critters. There isn't much better for dinner than a really good bottle of wine, fresh bread, salad and just steamed Dungeness Crab. Here are some pic of the day.

How to cook your crab....

Put it on it's back

Drive a big knife down into the breast and it kills the crab immediately (PETA Approved)

Good Ride, Good Company and a Great Dinner

Sounds like a winer to me, what was the price per pound at the harbor?

I rented a house in Bodega on the golf course. It was one of my favorite "do nothing but eat and drink wine" vacations. Great pictures.

Mike another great ride report. As an Okie I do envy you your roads. Based on the pics you apparently have a bad case of the crabs. I suspect you know what to do to get rid of them quickly. Good luck!

Nice write-up and pics. Here in Maine, we usually go out to eat every Saturday night. Lately, we've been grabbing a bunch of lobsters @3.99/lb and eating them at home. They even cook 'em up for us for free. Cheaper than bologna!
