I got my notice yesterday, but I already replaced that POS part on my own dime earlier this year when I was having all the symptoms but the diagnostics kept saying the part was good.

Now I'll see if yamaha will reimburse me for the part.

\Got mine on Thursday, time for my 4k service looks like I'll have it all done together.

I got Mine today in the mail.. Called the dealer and they ordered the part already. Im about to hit 50K on my 05. I have not had any problems with the bike so the part should be here about the time Im ready for the next valve inspection.. Think I will do valves at the same time, as well as sync the fuel injection..

the letter was on my mail box today. i saw a post with the vin #s of the bike that have this problem did i miss somethiing my vin # was not on the list .

I got my recall letter in the mail today as well. Seeing as the weather here in the North East has turned to chit it may be spring before I get mine done (when I get the valves checked). I did talk to my dealer and he has the TPS on order and should have them in this coming week. At least mine was running good before the weather turned sour.

I also got a telephone call from the dealer. The nice young lady is setting up appointments. Evidently they are doing a phone poll of those they've sold bikes to and will order the parts en masse. then schedule appointments to have the work done. All in all, pretty good service and unexpected.

I got my notice on Thursday. I called the shop were the bike currently is being fixed as a "ticker" and was told that they already had the part on order. They then called on Friday and told me that the bike was done. Not bad service from a shop that I did not even buy my bike from.

Is one of the indicators of a bad tps, if the bike starts hard-- fires once or twice and then dies, and you have to crack the throttle almost wide open to get it to start, kind of like a flooded carb would do. Smoked like it was flooded for a few seconds.

My '06 has done this twice after setting for a few days. I am hoping it is a tank of bad gas.

I did the Barbarian and ran a tank or 2 thru before this started to happen. Thinking this might be related to the mod and the wild temperature fluactions here recently, I went back to the stock pin pos. and CO readings.

I'll run the rest of the tank out and see if it continues. Otherwise, it has been running great for 4,000 miles.

Just wondered if I should be watching for a recall on an '06--- serial# 712.

I received mine Saturday. Guess I better call my shop and find out when they want me to bring it in.

Got mine last week too! Will have to schedule appt with dealer. I was wondering if I would hear after reading all these posts.

Dropped off mine last evening, and picked it up today, noonish.

Ran fine before, runs fine now, even at 30 degrees ambient.

Called my dealer ( Ron Turner....Jacksonville ) to schedule the TPS replacement. Was told they would put me in line....had a lot of people ahead of me wanting the same thing.....might take as long as a month to get to me. Glad my bike is running well. Going to go to them personally and see if this month-long delay is for real....I'd be pissed if mine was one of the bikes not running right.

Anyone have any problems bringing it in if they were not the original owner. The original owner got one in the mail and will send it to me. Anyone done this or ran into any problems with the dealer?
