What do you guys think would be the best GPS for JUST car use for between $ 100/150 ?

Wondering about power/mapping/user friendly/Etc.

I've been reading your threads on good GPS's for bikes.

This is just for a cheap gift !

I would have little or no problem buying anything from Garmin, but there are a lot of adds for tom tom.

I think either in that price range should work effectively.

I just sold my Garmin 250W. In Canuckia, I paid $175 for it, so it should be in your price range down there. Widescreen, stupid fast and acquiring satellites, worked even in the mtn's of WV with no drop out. Huge POI db and really thin.

Doesn't do routes, but my new 2730 does :D

Garmin Nuvi 200 or 200W can be had from Wal-Mart for about $100 now.

I've been playing with a 200W for a month or so in the car. Picks up a good signal without being on the dash, slips in your pocket, 5 hour battery run time, SD card capable. Easy to use and does everything I need except I can't program routes into it like I'd like to take on the m/c. But you get what you pay for.
