one was a suzuki, not sure if it was a 250 or 400. Must have been the 250, becasue no one looped it.

the other was maybe a montessa or ossa

Saw those guys in 1971 (I think) at West Virginia University in concert. They were great; the general WVU attendee didn't quite enjoy them by their reaction but I thought they were great. I also had their "Grand Funk" red covered album in 8-Track (yeah, I know I'm old) :p

I still got flight of the phoenix on vinyl. One of my favorite albums if you like B3.

I think the Suzuki is a TS 250 Savage.... I bought a somewhat wrecked one in 1972, stripped in down, put on a hooker header, and went moto cross racing with it... riding gear, leather work boots, open face bell helmet, googles, jeans, and a sweat shirt

what great fun that was !

GFR was my first concert. I was 13 at the time, my brother who was 19 took me. It was their We're An American Band" tour. They had a HUGE American Flag in lights as a backdrop. I was blown away for sure. I was playing keyboards in a band at the time. There's nothing sweeter than a Hammond B3 and that's still true. At the time, I had a Hammond Porta-B. It was a somewhat portable version of the B3.

Great time in my life.

It's 1972-just got the news that me and another guy are headed to southeast asia to help a brutha out, when this appeared in bahnhoff stations everywhere-

saw 'em first at the Messhalle in Nuremburg, then a USO concert shortly after that. Funny thing, at the Messhalle, the krauts went ape over the Pie (they were pretty awesome), then turned their noses up and walked out when GFR hit the stage (still one of the LOUDEST concerts I can recall. But the Gi's in the crowd loved them, ahhh, the good 'ol days....

Heck yeah he's still around. Was spotted two weeks ago at a Flint club, The Machine Shop. To bad him and Brewer can't get along. :( They kicked ass a couple of years ago on the Bosnia album.

:jester:

Saw GFR in San Antonio in 71. Also had them on 8 track. I have seen the Grand Funk tour at a county fair in Pleasanton, Ca. the last few years and they still sound great. Even though Brewer is the only member but he can still play them drums.
