Thought I'd show you guys a pic of my FJ1100. She's gone to a good home now but I thought you might appreciate seeing what started the bloodline. Anyone else got some FJ pics or stories to show/tell? This pic was taken Summer 2002. Wished I could have kept her.........

Hey Greg,

Yea, I feel bad that I had to let her go. At one time, I had both the FJ1100 and my then (07/02) brand new FJR 1300 in the garage at the same time. I spent many an evening marveling over the strong family resemblance. Side note: I see that you are entered once again in the LOE 1000. Not sure if I will be participating or helping Ira and Jeff with admin. Any chance we could put in a plug on the new website? How about a whole dedicated topic devoted to rallys and such? PM me if interested..........Steve

Here is mine. Gone to my Web developer. I rode it a couple of weeks ago. I'm way better off now.

and mine, gone to my oldest son. He still brings her over for a wash, oil change, etc; going strong at 120;000km ...

I'll bet the neighbors just loved you when you cranked her up at 7 AM on a Saturday morning.... :angry03:

One of my riding pals has a FJ1100, the story I posted in "ride reports" was done with him. 45,000 miles, and still going strong, with untouched motor internals. He's looking seriously at an FZ1, so I may be getting another project soon. ;)

@Rad

The FJ pictured had 42,000 mi. and was tight as a drum. The guy I sold it too has since put another 10,000 or so and it's still not using oil. However, it had a major elec. failure and he had to install a new wiring harness. Still, not bad for 20+ years on the clock.

@ Stef

She did have a distinctive "bark". Not refined like the LV's, but pure music to the true enthusiast.

I'll second the motion. That would be interesting.
Never bought the FJ. At the time they were out, I just couldn't bring myself to buy another air cooled bike. It was a "been there/done that" sorta thing at the time. Always heard good about them tho.

I was busy raisin kids when they came out so I made do with my RD400, but a friend let me ride his FJ1100 and I was speechless ! What a bike. I still wish I had my little Daytona too ! In high school I had a Kawi KH1 500cc 2-stroke triple that had Basani pipes and literally screamed...I called her Banshee and this was back in '76. Thanks for the memories and photos guys.

Bobby
