First thing I did to my used 6 month old FJR was to check the driveshaft and u-joint splines as per the forum...dry and starting to rust with only 4500k on it..Next the brake pedal pivot-notchy and squeaking..same thing for the clutch and brake levers. Now I know the swingarm bearings and linkage must be checked -steering head too and anything else that should be lubed..I know these are service areas but this bike is almost new and never seen rain..Would it kill them to grease this stuff properly from the factory...

Heck, my rear axle was totally dry and it had rusted enough that I needed to carefully bang it loose with a hammer. This was at 7,174 miles when I replaced my stock tire.

What strikes me as weird is that the FJR U-joint is sort of out in the breeze. All my other shafties had a full bellows-style boot enclosing things.

Jeez, man...you're a little late to the party, aren't you?!?!?

Maybe that's why all of your complaints are listed in the FAQ section and the separate Bin O' Facts threads so that new members will read them and have the base knowledge that there has been an ongoing issue so that they will check them at their first service period.

Of course, I'm only guessing on the intent of the FAQ thread monitors.....
