Sorry, no personal experience...., yet (other than standing next to, sitting on, touching/fondling, etc).But, as to *why*? Maybe, "purity of line"? A replica of a "pukka" race bike -- now street-able and available. Ducati offers two other "modern-retros"; and all three are desirable, imo.

As much as I love Ducatis, I've decided not to buy one of these or the Paul Smart ed. due to the low, low, low clip-ons! Even with some optional risers.......still too low, low, low!

There is a picture of Paul Smart sitting on the bike @ the Ducati site which is almost comical due to his age and ergos of the bike.
