I have a 06 with aprox 26000 miles. Recently when shifting from first to second gear the trans will grind if I am traveling at a pace faster then a grandma.

Also it kind of snaps into the other gears as well. If I shift from first to second at a slow rate of speed it seems just ok. What do you think the problem is and is it covered by YES. I will probably wait till Nov to have them take a look at it.

Thanks

Without any further info on the problem, I would be very suspicious that perhaps your clutch is not fully disengaging for some reason. When the clutch is dragging it makes all "normal" shifts problematic.

Maybe try this: Shift 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 without using the clutch a few times and see how easily it slips into the next higher cog. The way to do this is to pre-weight the shifter lightly with your foot. Then, when you want to shift, slightly increase the tension on the shift pedal at the same time that you briefly come off the throttle. Not radically, mind you, just enough to let some slack into the drive train. It should snick smartly into the next gear.

By not using the clutch at all, you may be able to tell if the clutch is your problem.
