Guidelines for Riders Cup Challenge II 2011/12

Welcome to the Riders Cup Challenge for 2011-2012.

Please review these guidelines as there have been a couple of changes from last year.

The biggest change this year is the split into two classes of rides, street or dual sport. These classes are separate with a points champion for each class. Points earned in one class do not count in the other class. Participants will choose which class they wish to participate in at registration. You may participate in one or both classes. Each class has a separate list of destinations.

As stated above, each class will have an overall point champion who will receive an event trophy. Each class will also have 3 levels of achievement (point ranges). Other prizes are awarded by drawing so everyone within a point range will qualify for that drawing. We will have many prizes to give away, so everyone who participates will have a good chance at a prize!

Additional guidelines:

1. Each participant pays an entry fee. For those who participated in RCC I, you may use your T-shirt from last year and pay a reduced entry fee. For anyone new to the RCC this year, your entry fee will include an event T-shirt. Upon registration, you will receive via email a list of destinations with assigned point values. New participants will also receive their event T-shirt via US Mail. Sorry, no local pickup available.

2. You must be the pilot of the motorcycle to earn points. Co-pilots are encouraged to come along for the ride, but two-up teams can only have one name in the drawings.  Two riders does not mean double points.

3. To earn points, you must post a “Proof photo” of your visit to the destination on our forum in the Riders Cup Challenge photo thread. The photo should be taken in such a way that the judges will recognize you were at the destination with your motorcycle. For any photo to count, you must also have your Challenge T-shirt prominently displayed. (Wear it, have your spouse wear it, hang it on the bike, hang it on a tree behind the bike, put it on your favorite stuffed bear, etc.) You may post a support photo to clarify your location or that you have your marker as needed. See example in photo thread.

4. Post your proof photo on AZBeemers.org forum in a special thread provided for this activity. With your picture, post the following information:

- Class for this photo (Street or Dual Sport (DS)).

- Name of destination visited.

- Date visited. (Optional.)

- Points earned for this destination.

- Cumulative points earned to date.

- The motorcycle you rode to the destination (If you always ride the same bike, no need to state this every time.)

Note: This is a score yourself event. The organizers will only verify postings and points at the end of the challenge to verify prize winners. Texas T has volunteered to keep a running total for our convenience, but it is your responsibility to inform him if you see a problem with your total. You may also opt out of the running total list if you do not wish to be on it.

5. You may combine several destinations into one ride if you wish, and share all the photos in one posting. You may mix dual sport destinations with street locations in the same posting as long as you identify which class you are claiming the points for, and are registered in that class.

6. There will be surprise point earning opportunities added throughout the duration of the contest. These may include ride destinations or special events such as motorcycle shows, social events etc. These surprise opportunities will be posted in the RCC section only, so it pays to read the posts in this section! No other announcements will be sent on these opportunities.

7. You can count each destination only once over the duration of the challenge.

8. The challenge will begin in October of 2011 and will end in May, 2012.. Postings after midnight on end date will not be allowed or counted toward your total. (exact end date TBD.)

9. The organizers reserve the right to change the guidelines as needed.

10. The organizers reserve the right to allow exceptions to any guideline as they see fit.

11. This is the only "Rule" that has no exceptions: NO REFUNDS!

12. You need to ride your bike to the destination. Please don't trailer or haul it all or part way. Exception: If you haul your dirtbike on a trailer that your streetbike tows to the staging area.  ;D

Other exception: If you ride to a destination and have a breakdown where you need to have your bike towed/trailered home, you can still receive credit for your ride.

What is the Riders Cup Challenge?

The Riders Cup Challenge is a self paced, long term motorcycle riding challenge designed to give participants an opportunity to visit places in and around Arizona that they may not otherwise visit.

Who can play?

Anyone who enjoys riding motorcycles.

How does it work?

Participants pay a modest registration fee which includes an event T-shirt and a list of destinations in and around Arizona.

Once registered, you study the destination list and choose where you want to visit on your motorcycle. When you reach each destination, take a picture of yourself and/or your significant other and/or your motorcycle at the destination. In the picture, you must display the official T-shirt in some way. (Wear it, hang it on your M/C, hold it up, lay it on a rock, etc. Get creative!) This is your proof of visit to that destination.

At your convenience, post your destination picture(s) on a special thread on the forum. With the picture, post the following: Class (street or dual sport), motorcycle ridden, name of the destination, points earned for this destination and cumulative points earned to that point.

For the competitive types, this is a challenge to reach as many destinations on the list as possible within the contest time frame. (October – April). The winner of each class (street and dual sport) will earn a trophy for their efforts! Note: Riders choose which class they wish to participate in. You may choose street, dual sport or both.

For those of us who prefer non-competitive pleasure riding, this is a challenge to visit places on the list that look interesting, or that we have not visited before. We still accumulate points and post our pictures. As we earn points, we qualify for prizes that will be awarded by drawing at the end of the challenge.

This is a great opportunity to ride and see Arizona, get to know fellow riders and win some great prizes!
