GYTR slipons need tuning?

These interest me somewhat, talking to the dealer parts guy about just slipping on slippons and the ecu manages the rest and was told to get a power commander etc. etc., is this really necessary for the GYTRs?

Not likely. Power commander and similar may be nice on a Gen I or II, to smooth things out. Your Gen III probably won't need it. The aftermarket cans will just sound better, (to some of us!)
