My google search pulled up threads on HID kits with ballasts, etc... but I'm looking at bulbs that are plug and play. Being ignorant to this technology (WTF does H4 and HID mean) I thought I'd better seek advice. Anyone have experience with Plug and Play H4 Xenon HID Light bulbs? They sound like a good idea but???

Edit:

These are what I`m wondering about.

And why are they basically giving them away?

Wikipedia is your friend in this case.

H4 is the form factor of our specific stock lights. H4 refers to a specfic type of dual-filament halogen bulb our bike uses. It predates HID technology.

HID stands for High-Intesity Discharge and is a technology that's completely different than filament bulbs.

We like to convert over from older halogen to more HID for a variety of reasons that have been discussed many time before. And conversions are rarely ideal, even more rarely "plug-and-play", and involve many trade-offs....that have been discussed even MORE times.
