BeerMan, congrats on making the 60th. You are certainly a candidate for the "FJR Vintage Riders" Get with the Program, youngster!! Have a great 60th, if you can, remember it only happens once in your lifetime(TurboDave wisdom offered without consent)

ride safe.

For crying out loud! Another one? Jebus, your a birthday hog! What you at now? 80 or so? Heck, don't feel too much like an old man, you only look 90. :****:

Happty Birthday you ornery old fart. Here's to many more before they take away your motorcycle license!

My many heartfelt thanks to my FJR Friends for your warm wishes on my 60th Birthday! To see how I celebrated this milestone please go to Ride Reports and look under "Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, Deep Into Mexico for the Kool-Aid Convention!"

How am I going to celebrate next year's 61st birthday? Our wonderful FJR Italian friend Stefano Sarao - teerex and I have been up to some personal message skullduggery for the last few months. After the first of the year 2009 Stef will be unveiling "The Mother of All Italian FJR Road Tours." It'll be somewhat modeled after our latest correspondence below, but I humbly bow to teerex for any final decisions on the routings and the dates. Who knows Italy better than our own Stef???

"My Friend Stefano: Since your last post to me regarding adding Sicily to my trip to Corsica and Sardinia I have been kicking a route and schedule around.

I’d like your input and the input of FJR Hook, Caba and Mek on my route:

Saturday, October 18, 2009 & Sunday: Flight from Phoenix to Rome, Italia.

Monday: Secure the rental bike from a vendor recommended by Hook and Stef. Run the Coast Road from Roma to Livorno. Question for Stef and Hook: Can this Mediterranean Route be run in a full day’s time on Monday?

Tuesday: Take the ferry from Livorno to Bastia, Corsica - spend the night.

Wednesday: Spend the night in Ajaccio. Hook & S: Any recommended roads?

Thursday: Spend the night in Bonifacio. Hook & S: Your road suggestions?

Friday: Take the ferry to Sardinia, spend the night in Sassari. Restaurants?

Saturday: Ride to Cagliari. Any road and restaurant recommendations?

Sunday: Take the ferry to Trapani, Sicily and spend the night in Marsala.

Monday: Ride to Palermo. Would love your routing and rest stop ideas!

Tuesday: Ride to Siracusa. Once again how would you go and where to eat?

Wednesday: Ferry crossing from Messina to Villa San Giovanni and stay in Vibo Valentia. Do you recommend a better place to spend the “boot” night?

Thursday: Autostrada to Napoli. Looks like this is a real “grinder” of a day!

Friday: This would be our “lay” day, where if we were behind schedule, and we were running out of time/miles, we could catch up on any glitches on this day!

Saturday: Arrive back in Rome by 1600 hrs - turn in the bike and kick back.

Sunday: Fly back to Phoenix, where it’ll be damn flat, dry and 100 degrees!"

Happy birthday, Donaldo :clapping:

Here's to your 6th decade on Earth and to many more to follow.

As for 2009, I guess the cat's out of the bag huh?

This Mother of All Road Tours has greatly benefited from our recent island rides. We have seen roads that you people wouldn't believe    Hours of twisties with no quarter, amazing views and a local red wine that packs a helluva punch.

The countdown has officially started.... B)

Mi amigo Stef: Those are the words that I wanted to hear! That we are kicking off the planning for Italy Road Tour of 2009!

If you don't have plans yet for 2010, why don't you let me reciprocate your immense generosity! To celebrate my 62nd Birthday, I am going to relive a ride I made twenty years ago: Estados Unidos to Guatemala! In 1988 I rode my BMW R80RT from Morro Bay, California to Guatemala City. To mark my 62nd I am once again going to travel the Pan-American.

You could fly to Phoenix and ride my FJR, while I ride my new BMW F650GS. We can bring SkooterG and leave him in G.C.!!
