Well, we are not grandparents. Way to young for that. Jeeze. However, we do have a new addition to the family.
Riki was born on the 10th, and is my wife's niece's daughter:
The school my younger daughters go to started a Father Daughter Dance last year, to coincide with Valentine's Day as a PTO fundraiser. It is a huge hit with dads wearing Zoot Suits, Tuxes, or whatever matches their daughter(s).
Our group of friends, referred to as the "clique" a couple years ago, rent a limo, take the girls out and have a great time. 7 dad's and 14 daughters. We're missing a couple friends, but their daughters are too old. My oldest is also missing; although, she was supposed to go. She's 13 and is feeling out her teenage coolness, mistakenly thinking I'm going to tolerate it. We have warned her, but on the way home from school, she decided to talk to me like I was one of her school friends. Because of that, I made her stay home. Honestly, it broke my heart, but apparently, I have to be her dad, and not her buddy. So, she's the 14th girl missing from this picture.
We have been friends for nearly 10 years. We hang out, go to parties, host parties, go to the lake, and take care of each other. These guys are the great friends we have with girls this age. Really, they are not friends, they are our family:
