I sure the hell do...... : (

I havent ridden anything in the past year that has matched that bike and I was riding a pretty old model. I went and looked at a BMW R1200RT but for the money, would like to try and find a holdover 15/16 FJR. Dont want an AE.

I have seen a couple of used ones, but based on what I am reading here, should probably try to find a new one with warranty and the extended coverage?

Is the 16 first year of the 6-speed and how sold is everyone on the ES?

And is it cool if I come back in here and hang out with you guys??

@SD1, is your location San Diego, CA? If so, you may want to purchase a 2015 FJR1300A from Moto United in La Habra, CA. It will be a little drive for you, but I drove out from Phoenix, AZ to get that great deal. Moto United treated me very well. I was very pleased with the price and the service. I went to CycleTrader.com and it looks like they still have one more 2015 brand new hold-over FJR1300A for $10,999.

I love my 2015 FJR! The color is great and the bike is a hoot to ride when you are in "S" mode. I also bought a SHAD 40 case, bracket, and backrest pad from Moto United. Adam gave me a great deal on these accessories as well. I only plan to put the case on for long trips -- none so far. I just got the bike a few weeks ago and I am already at 3,000 miles!

I dont mind going somewhere to pick it up, La habra would be cake, I could even ride the train, BUT, dont want an A. I saw a dealer advertising them for 10.9k in Chatsworth (n/w LA) also.

So far the cheapest advertised 16ES is 14999. I would probably buy a used one before I paid that. Thanks for the comment, glad you are enjoying your bike, its riding season in PHX!! I lived in Chandler for 15 yrs prior to SD.

Wait is the A just a standard suspension but 6 speed manual NOT the automatic trans???? I am clueless......

Hard to beat this one--price, condition, mileage, and yes, Y.E.S. Same state, too.

(Just noticed your comment about A/ES. IMHO, once you decide what setting works best for you, you don't need to change it much. It's not like the windscreen that you adjust all the time depending on conditions.)

That is a bit of a deal, but that isnt the easiest place to get to, sure that is why he still has it. I guess fly into Eugene, watch the Ducks get crushed at Autzen and buzz home????

I HATED selling my 06 back in 2010. Nothing compares to the FJR in my book. Finally bought my '15 this past April. Tried riding others but nothing else seemed to compare to it.

And sure, you can hang out. Just watch out the crazy ones......

Blasphemy !!!! Just bought a 15A Haven't even ridden it yet. I did take the 08 to work today and all week. I would have a hard time getting rid of the 08. I have to many memories with it.

Haha...It can be a pain keeping up with all the letters.

Yamaha stopped sending AE bikes with the electronic clutch to the US after 2009, if I remember right.

Now there is the A model which is the standard FJR with 6sp trans for 2016 and up. 2015 and below have the 5sp trans. 2016 saw the introduction of LED lighting everywhere, while 2013 saw cruise control added to every bike. The 2013s were limited to 82mph, which can be fixed with an ECU swap.

In 2014, the ES cake into play. That is the Electronic Suspension version with upside down forks. For 2016,the ES also comes with cornering LEDs in the headlight facia.

So, in the US, it's either A, or ES. There is speculation that Yamaha is maybe cutting the A version from the 2017 lineup, but that's in another thread, and no one knows it its really too soon to actually tell.

You may want to look up the comparison matrix. Iggy has most of this info detailed there. Not sure how up to date it is right now. I'd assume everything through 2016 is there.

Thanks for clarifying. Knowing that, how can you beat a leftover 15 for 10-10.9k??? 40% more for 6spd, ES and groovy lights???

Test ride one and check if you really want the 6th gear. Other than that the differences are minor.

YES !! -- yes, yes -- big regrets. Many miles , smiles and friends made with our '03 Red Sylvie.

The friends, we still have

Just to clarify, both 2016 ES and A models have 6 speed gear boxes with a slipper clutch and easier pull clutch lever, and led lighting all around. The differences are that the ES has the nifty turning lights and electronically adjustable suspension

Scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see a picture of me shaking Adam's hand in front of my brand new 2015 FJR: https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/168118-2015-otd-price/page-4

I emailed him. Not 100% sure I am ready to pull the trigger but taking a hard look. Seems like such a great deal, might be hard to pass it up. As much as I may enjoy a 16/17 with the added features, I have been riding old bikes for the better part of the last 6-7 years, barring one late model Harley (they all ride the same though) so I am thinking a new 15' FJR will likely feel like a starship to me. : )

Yes.....traded my 2011 on a Jeep, sold the jeep and bought a 2102 GW, sold the GW and now have the best motorcycle I have ever owned.

2015 FJR1300es !!!!!!
